Ingram Micro Raises Record Amount at Its 17th Annual West Coast Charity Golf Tournament
SANTA ANA, Calif. – Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world’s largest technology distributor, raised a record $150,000 at its 17th Annual West Coast Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 22, providing six local charities with donations of $25,000 each:
* Acacia Adult Day Services provides daytime Adult Day Care and Adult Day Health Care programs to enable frail older adults to live more independently in their community.
* Collette’s House focuses on healing homelessness for women and children with nowhere to turn.
* Hope University, home of the Hi Hopes, is a fine-arts infused day-program for adults with developmental disabilities.
* Miracle for Kids is an organization with a mission to improve the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
* Royal Family Kids Camp is the nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children.
* WISEPlace is a community of housing and hope for women in crisis in Santa Ana. It provides its residents with basic needs such as housing, food, clothing, physical and emotional nourishment, as well as vocational and life skills training.
“We started our popular charity golf tournament in 1993 as a way to raise money and continue Ingram Micro’s tradition of giving back to our local community,” said Keith Bradley, president, Ingram Micro North America. “Since then, we have raised nearly $1 million, which has been given to 50 local non-profit organizations.”
Held at the Tustin Ranch Golf Course in Tustin, Calif., the tournament drew 152 players, including Ingram Micro executives, associates and family members, customers and vendors. Following the early morning tournament, participants attended an awards banquet and presentation of the proceeds to the benefiting organizations. The tournament was made possible with support from 51 sponsors.
Bradley added, “Thanks to the generous support of this year’s tournament sponsorship vendors, customers and participants, Ingram Micro remains committed to supporting the communities in which our associates live and work. We are thrilled to be able to donate $150,000 to these worthy charities.”
