FIBA Appeals Commission Dismissed The Appeal

GENEVA (2010 FIBA World Championship) — FIBA, the world governing body of basketball, announces that an appeal by Greek players Antonis Fotsis and Sofoklis Schortsanitis, against suspension, has been dismissed by the FIBA Appeal Commission this afternoon.
The players were suspended by FIBA after recent fighting between the Greece and Serbia national teams at a friendly tournament in Greece.
The players are suspended for two games in main official FIBA competitions.
Serbian players Nenad Krstic and Milos Teodosic did not appeal and are also suspended.
They will miss the first three (Krstic) and two (Teodosic) games of the 2010 FIBA World Championship, which begins today.
