PM Gordon Brown meets President Karzai of Afghanistan

Hamid KarzaiGordon Brown met the President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, in 10 Downing Street today.

The two men discussed a range of issues including development activity, reconstruction and outreach as part of the ongoing UK support in Helmand, South-West Afghanistan. 

President Kazai praised the contribution that UK troops were making in Afghanistan, and offered his condolences on the news yesterday of the death of two Royal Marines.
