About “$#*! My Dad Says”
The legendary William Shatner stars in “$#*! My Dad Says” as Ed, a 72-year-old living, breathing fountain of wisdom with the pressure of a fire hose. A thrice-divorced ex-doctor and veteran of three wars, Ed hates beating around the bush. And if you’re on his property after 9 p.m. without prior notification, chances are he’ll greet you with his shotgun. Enter Henry, Ed’s estranged twenty-something son from his third marriage. Henry’s a good kid who’s spent his entire life doing everything right. But he’s been dealt a bad hand by the economy, and is forced to seek help from his father — a man whose approach to parenthood has meant never doing his children any favors. While Henry tries to crack Ed’s hardened shell, Ed struggles with fears of losing his independence with age. Will he stay in the house he’s lived in for the last forty years, or move into a “convenient” condo offered up by his eldest son, Vince, and Vince’s wife, Kathleen (“MADtv’s” Will Sasso and Nicole Sullivan)?
Based on the Sh*t My Dad Says Twitter account, with over a million followers, this hilarious and heartfelt multi-camera comedy is at once the story of a son searching for approval from a standoffish father who’s seen it all and the story of a father who’s realizing that it’s never too late to be a dad … even if that means letting your unemployed, post-graduate son shack up with you for the foreseeable future.
