Gosse de peintre
Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain

Gosse de peintre is a site-specific exhibition created entirely by the
internationally acclaimed Japanese film director and actor Beat
Takeshi Kitano, who is also a famous comic and television presenter in
Japan.
Here, he has delved into the realm of childhood with great subtlety and
impertinence, transforming the Fondation Cartier into a world of bizarre
objects, whimsical settings, imaginary machines, funny videos and
strange paintings.

Born in Japan in 1947, Takeshi Kitano is a well-known film director
whose works include Sonatine (1995 Critics Award at the Cognac
Festival du Film Policier), Hana-bi (1997 Golden Lion Award at the
Venice Film Festival), and Zatôichi (2003 Silver Lion Award at the
Venice Film Festival).
He is also currently presenting eight weekly television shows in his
home country.
